Kaye Thompson is a highly experienced riding instructor with over 30 experience with horses. She's spent time in prestigious horse racing stables, she previously set up Fearns Riding Centre and has taught hundreds of children and adults over the years. She is a registered British Horse Society trainer.
"Kaye's so patient and really encouraging," says a current rider at Weir Riding Centre. "She takes the time to explain what she wants me to do and how to ride; she makes it so easy to understand what I have to do. I had never ridden before coming to Weir Riding Centre, so Kaye has taught me everything from tacking up, to using the mounting block correctly and how to control the pony. She has taught me so many new skills - I love my new hobby!"
Kaye regularly teaches people with special needs and disadvantaged young people from the community. She says: "I love sharing my skills with people of all ages and backgrounds. Seeing people progress gives me a real sense of satisfaction and pride. I especially love working with people who wouldn't normally have the opportunity to ride horses. The skills they learn can open up so many new avenues and give them the confidence to aim high in life."
Tuition is affordable. Half an hour lessons cost £15 and £20 for one hour.
